Judy WIEBE - Jeweller

Jewelry is wearable art. It should be interesting and cause people to stop and take note.

About 5 years ago I was introduced to chain mail. I fell in love with the way it felt when I was wearing it. It has weight, but it drapes so nicely over your body that it doesn't feel heavy at all. I've always liked copper jewelry but I was never happy with the designs. It was either a hard bangle or cheap looking costume jewelry.
Introducing the enamelled copper and Swarovski crystals into my work has made the chainmaille more interesting and appealing.

I've been a graphic designer most of my life, and am now teaching in the School of Design at George Brown College. My interests are varied and I like experimenting with all kinds of materials: glass, paper, stone, fabric, pewter, etc.
