Susan FISHER - Encaustic
Working with encaustic is for Susan, a joyful experience. The medium is applied in a molten state and hardens immediately, forming layer after layer of luminous translucent colours. It is very receptive to carving, fusing with other materials and accepting photo images. The possibilities are endless. Susan's accomplishments include an MA, BFA, and an Art Education Diploma. Her artistic career began in Montreal, taking Saturday morning art classes with inspirational guidance, at the Musee des Beaux Arts. She studied Visual Arts and Art Education at Concordia University, and then completed a Masters in Anthropology, studying Indigenous Art.
