Born in Calgary Alberta, I have lived in Québec for more than sixty years and exhibited since 1975.
For years I have walked, drawn and painted outdoors in all seasons, an ongoing dialogue with nature. Its rhythms, changing light and unexpected glimpses are a continual delight and challenge. Paintings (I prefer oils) may be completed outdoors or give rise to further interpretation in the studio.
I have had bursary from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and in 1996 I enjoyed a three-month artist-in-residency in Germany. My work is in the Canada Council Art Bank, the Prêt d’œuvres d’art du Musée de Québec and Loto Québec as well as private collections.
For twenty-six years I taught painting and drawing at the Visual Arts Centre in Montreal where I continue to live.
