Warren PETERSON – Painter

I am a contemporary realist landscape artist of the Canadian wilderness, dedicated to capturing the beauty of our natural spaces and wild places. My paintings and drawings reflect the vast “unpeopled” Northern landscape. I have been painting for over 45 years with a focus on landscapes in acrylics, watercolour, graphite and charcoal.
I started my working life as a graphic designer and art director where colour, design and composition are used to entice an emotive response. The right motif provides a sense of place, light, time and space, celebrating the experience of being outdoors. Painting en plein air on site to get that first emotion down or in my studio in Sault Ste. Marie, I strive to connect you with the mystery and serene beauty that nature provides so you can enjoy it every day. As a long-time resident of Northern Ontario, Warren has paintings in private collections across Canada; in Oregon, California, Texas, and Florida in the USA; in Australia; in Japan … and Hong Kong and Singapore.
