“At the height of the Abstract Expressionist movement the critic, Clement Greenberg claimed ‘there is nothing left in nature for the plastic arts to explore’, yet for me the here and now of rocks, trees, water and sky hints of messages that need to be conveyed. Through art I try to decode and express the feelings I have as an individual confronted with the force of a natural environment. This makes me restless and probably places me somewhere in the Romantic art tradition.”
Rod Prouse lives beside Georgian Bay inspired by its wind, rocks and waters.
